Pilates is a method of body conditioning that has been practiced for decades. However, it has recently gained momentum in the fitness and health industries as more people are seeking a safer and more natural total body workout.

Pilates is an alternative form of exercise that simultaneously strengthens, stretches and defines all muscle groups. It aligns the body while eliminating excess tension and strain on the joints. Pilates is a mind/body approach to exercise that increases one’s awareness of good body mechanics and focuses on the connection of the mind, the breath and the body. It is the perfect workout promoting physical and mental well-being. Each Pilates session is tailored to the specific needs and abilities of the client.

The Pilates method includes more than 500 specifically designed movements performed on five major pieces of unique apparatus or for the mat work or no apparatus at all.

The movements are efficient and fluid and require muscle control, coordination, balance, concentration and precision. Integrating these with strength, stability, flexibility and breathing, Pilates is the perfect workout for all ages and fitness levels.
